I think she shouldn't of been booted out: she's far too talented. I
dig her versions of heavy metal songs like GNR, which she was good at
during the auditions for AI. Unfortunately she was voted off the show.
She's also a biker, which would render enormously to her sexuality.
She's from Mulberry, which is close to Lafayette, Axl and Izzy's birth
place. She should've won, no doubt. The next good thing to have come
out of Lafayette. I just hope her parents are not such religious
fanatic bigots like Axl's, who kicked him out of the house for growing
long hair.

Amanda Lindsay Overmyer (born October 26, 1984 in Little Rock, Arkansas) is
an American singer and was a finalist of American Idol 7.

Overmyer was born in Little Rock, AR, in 1984 while her father served there
in the United States Air Force. Overmyer and her family eventually moved
back to Indiana where she grew up in Camden, Indiana and attended Delphi
Community High School, in Delphi, Indiana.

In her late teens, Overmyer joined a local band. Since then she has also
been the lead singer of several bands, including Steeleto and Ruinaces.

She received a nursing degree from Ivy Tech Community College, and is a
health-care specialist dealing predominantly in respiratory issues.

As a young girl competing in 4-H sponsored talent contests and later in
WAZY Idol in Lafayette, Indiana, Amanda always dreamt of a career in music.
Although Overmeyer already has a successful career as a nurse, she also has
an urge to see if a professional music career could be her future. For
Overmyer, trying out for American Idol gave her the best chance to test the
waters without risk.

Since her elimination she has been slated to play at The Whisky a Go Go bar
in West Hollywood, and is also reportedly in talks to play her real-life
musical influence Janis Joplin in a film about the aforementioned bar.

The American Idol judges have often compared her sound to Janis Joplin.
Overmyer was eliminated on the March 19, 2008 episode of American Idol 7
giving her 11th place.

Top 12 Lennon/McCartney "You Can't Do That" The Beatles Safe

Some of Overmyer's favorite past gigs were the ones sponsored by ABATE of
Indiana. Through this association and its biker members, Overmyer enjoyed
another passion — Harley Davidson motorcycles. Her immediate family all
enjoy motorcycles as as well.

Overmyer revealed that she could choose any song she wanted to sing on
the show that fit the theme. Whether it "cleared" or the artist
allowed "Idol" to use the song was a different story. Overmyer said
she wanted to sing a Guns 'N Roses song for the '80s theme but the
show was not allowed access to any song sung by Axl Rose, who most
consider the biggest rock star to come out of Greater Lafayette.

It was the second Beatles week that saw Overmyer eliminated, and while
the young woman from Indiana was thousands of miles away in Hollywood
for the past couple months, she said she recognized and felt love for
her coming from Greater Lafayette. That love came in the form of
hundreds of people gathered at the End Zone Sports Bar to rock out
with her on the big screen television or from just the one person that
Overmyer never met voting for her by phone.

There is a weird stench on the southwest end of Lafayette. It's from
some auto related manufacturing plant and it makes that whole part of
town smell like a million half rotten potatoes baking.

If you think that's bad, head south to Terre Haute. I dare you to keep your
car windows rolled down.

The smell is from where Laura Linger (also from Lafayette) smoked pot
with "Billy" (that's the name Axl used among his closest friends).

Which would also help render enormously to her sexuality, prolly. When
you gotta stench like that going in town, about the only thing you can
do is copulate and sing out-of-tune. When I go on my tour of American
Idol rejects, I'll have to cross Lafayette off my list, in spite of
"Axl and Izzy," whoever they are.

Axl = W. Axl Rose ne. William Bruce Rose Jr.
Izzy = Jeff Isbell, nicknamed "Izzy Stradlin".

Axl + Izzy = 40% of original GNR line up.

As for Amanda, she lists GNR among her chief influences, besides
Joplin.
