You might like a fantastic (IMHO) band called firegarden -
www.firegarden.co.uk , and there's some music on
http://myspace.com/firegardensheffield aswell.
Not at all Hawkwindish, but good all the same was the most recent album
of ex-Wildheart Ginger, called Valor del Corazon
